Menorca
Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic islands however its laid back and not as loud as its Balearic neighbours. Menorca has more beaches than Ibiza and Mallorca combined however many of them are only accessible by hiking or driving off road. This means many beaches are quiet or deserted even in peak season. The main airport on Menorca is at Mahon and there are regular flights from the main UK airports.
The main towns are Mao (Mahon) and Ciutadella between which lies rural villages, meadows and farms. Tourism is important on Menorca but its carefully balanced with the environment. Menorca is designated a UNESCO Biosphere reserve and the partnership between tourism and conservation is encouraged. The result is a beautiful and relaxing holiday destination.
